Be Careful with Heat Lamps

A Nebraska snake-owner removed the heat lamp from on top of the snake's cage, and forgot to return it. When the lamp's timer turned it on later, it heated up nearby combustibles and set the house on fire. The snake died, and the house had $50,000 in damages. (News source.)
